Fad Diet vs. Lifestyle

Atkins, South Beach, and even the grapefruit diet have been in the news. This article talks about overall lifestyle for eating instead of following fad diets.
The ups and downs in weight loss may cause more bodily distress than necessary, so working with a doctor or nutritionist to find a tailored diet* helps achieve long term health and emotional well being. This attitude improves personal images of body shape and weight.
My favorite part of the article says “there are no bad foods, just bad portions.” Managing portions and calorie intake and output (through daily activity and exercise) are requirements for healthy eating. Boil it down – no matter what, eat less (and better quality food) and move more.
*diet = change to lifestyle, comfortable living with for the long term.
